Everything you wanted to know about roundabouts and more will be available to the public next week. Tuesday, May 16 is the date for a Washington County roundabout open house. The event takes place from 4:30-7:30 p.m., at Century Junior High School, 21395 Goodview Ave. N. The public information meeting is designed to provide information on the form of unsignalized, circular intersection that is designed to maximize safety and minimize traffic delay. Washington County and the city of Forest Lake are in the final design stage of a roundabout plan which will see the construction of seven roundabouts from US-61 (Lake Street) west to SW 19th St. west of I-35. Roundabouts are being targeted along W. Broadway Ave. at 19th St., the east and west ramps to I-35, 12th St., 7th St., 4th St. and Lake Street. The project is targeted for construction in 2007-2008.
