Washington County reminds residents that the first installment of most Washington County property taxes is due May 15. The county is required to charge a late payment penalty to property owners who donít have payments in by that date. Property taxes on manufactured homes are not due until August 31. The County Taxpayer Services Office will be open on Saturday, May 13 and Saturday, May 14 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to accept payments for property taxes. Payments will be accepted at the service counter located on the second floor of the North Building at the Stillwater Government Center. A penalty of 2 percent for homestead and 4 percent for non-homestead property will be added to first-half tax balances paid after the May 15 deadline. Additional penalties are applied to unpaid taxes on the first of each month, beginning June 1, until paid.
