The Chisago County Board of Commissioners on May 2 unanimously supported a motion by Commissioner Ben Montzka of Wyoming to purchase mobile data computers for Wyoming Police Department squad cars and reimburse the city for initial training, equipment and uniform expenses related to city participation in the county SWAT team. Equipping the six city squad cars with MDCs will cost an estimated $60,000 with the SWAT reimbursement for Wyoming officers set at $3400. ìThe Wyoming Police Department has my full support and I am happy that the county board has agreed with me to provide this additional revenue to enhance the capabilities of the city police department,î Montzka said.
