Rangers slam Woodbury, face Cretin May 17

A six-run sixth inning sent Woodbury packing Tuesday night as the Forest Lake baseball team scored an important 12-3 victory. The win sets the stage for a key test Wednesday at Cretin-Derham Hall and a Friday night game at 7 p.m. against Hastings under the lights at The Ballpark at Schumacher Field in Forest Lake. Friday's game will determine the SEC championship.

In Tuesday's win, Jeff Brooks notched the pitching victory to square his mound record at 1-1. He pitched five innings of relief. Lefty Erik Zentzis worked the first two frames and Jed Hanson pitched the seventh. Hanson delivered two hits and a pair of RBIs, Brooks singled and tripled and knocked in one run while Drew Cremisino smacked a two-run double to spark the Forest Lake attack. The six-run sixth inning broke open a 6-3 game and helped the Rangers improve to 12-2 in the Suburban East Conference and 14-2 overall.
