National Day of Prayer observed May 4 in FL, Wyoming
A National Day of Prayer ceremony will take place at both the Forest Lake Lakeside Park gazebo and on the grounds of the Wyoming City Hall on Thursday, May 4 at noon.
The National Day of Prayer, which is also supported by state and local proclamations is a call of unity for our national, state and local leaders to ask us to pray for our nation on this special day.
The National Day of Prayer tradition began prior to the founding of the United States, when the Continental Congress issued a proclamation setting aside a day of Prayer in 1775.
In 1952, the US Congress established an annual day of prayer, and in 1989, the law was amended designating the National Day of Prayer as the first Tuesday in May.
