An April 25th court date in Fort Worth, TX, to consider a contempt of court charge against Neulan D. Midkiff of Forest Lake was dismissed last week. Midkiff had been ordered to appear by the federal court in connection to a federal probe into an alleged bank fraud scheme that has implicated Midkiff and numerous other figures in several states. Mark King, an investigator with Hays Financial Consulting in Atlanta, GA, said the hearing date was dismissed at the request of the court-appointed receiver in light of Midkiffís recent cooperation with Hays Financial. Midkiff has been accused of involvement in a Ponzi scheme. Based on court action, more than $2 million in Midkiff cash and assets have been seized by the receiver during the investigation since last December. The contempt of court charge surfaced this spring over Midkiff's alleged failure to cooperate with the receiver and alleged sale of property that had been secured by the court.
