Girls track take 3rd at Roseville Invite

Kristi Buerkle helped lead the Forest Lake High School girls track and field team to a third place finish at the Roseville Invite this past week.

Buerkle took first in the 400 meter dash with a time of 59.46. Teammate Brittany Lafontse placed fifth in the event with a time of 1:03.96. Buerkle also took first in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.52, with teammate Kelsey Kosman in eighth place with a time of 28.59.

The Rangers registered three second place finishes in the event.

Auralee McGary placed second in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:21.89. Annie Dehmlow was sixth in the event with a time of 5:46.41.

Lafontse was second in the long jump, with a distance of 15í 7.75î. Erin Daninger was seventh in the long jump with a distance of 15í 0.75î.

Christie Newell recorded the final second place finish for the Rangers in the high jump with a height of 4í10í, while teammate Mary Blake took eighth with a height of 4í 8î.

Kierstin Nygaard was fourth in the shot put with a throw of 33í 1.5î. Kosman was fourth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.40.

The Rangers next meet is at 5 p.m. Friday at Stillwater.
