Wyoming will receive DEED grant

The city of Wyoming is one of 21 communities in Minnesota selected to receive funding from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development through the Greater Minnesota Business Development Infrastructure Grant program. In all, some $8.3 million in grants are being awarded. Wyoming will receive $500,000 to extend infrastructure to a manufacturing company that is proposing to relocate from Wisconsin to Minnesota. The city, acting in partnership with the Chisago County HRA and EDA is attempting to reach agreement with Xccent to relocate its manufacturing plant and 100 jobs from Osceola, WI, to land in Wyoming Township that is south of the Fairview Hospital campus. The site would be annexed to the city. The proposal takes advantage of the state JOBZ incentives.
