Liberty Ponds sees review

The Liberty Ponds Development was brought up again at the Tuesday, Oct. 24th meeting of the Wyoming Township Board.
Town Attorney Tom Fitzgerald has again contacted the developerís attorney with no response being received as to when the money due the township for road work will be received.
Discussion followed as to whether a complaint for breach of contract should be the next step or to get a judgement. There are also other unpaid bills dating back to July.
It was decided a three-way conference would be attempted between Engineer Mark Erichson, Board Chairman Roger Elmore and the developer.
If this meeting does not provide an answer for the nonpayments, a formal complaint will be filed immediately.
The town board approved the final payment voucher of $52,971.26 for the Heath, Itasca, 243rd and 244th Street road improvement projects and set an assessment hearing date for Heath and Itasca for Tuesday, Nov. 14th.
Septic Ordinance
The proposed new septic ordinance was discussed at length.
It was felt the local citizens need to be more knowledgeable before the ordinance is put into effect, even though there were interested residents who attended the public meeting with the planning commission on this subject previously.
For instance, residents may not be aware it is a state statute that septic systems must be pumped every three years.
The town board decided to send out a mailing advising another date for a presentation by the planning commission plus have copies of the ordinance available at the town hall and on the web site.
