Incumbents Nienow, Nelson trail in District 17
Incumbent District Sen. Sean Nienow, R-Cambridge, trails challenger Rick Olseen, DFL, by a scant margin with 31 of 39 precincts reporting.
Nienow has 12,559 votes (46.14 percent) to 12,957 (47.60 percent) for Olseen. Independence candidate Bill Neuman polled 1691 votes (6.21 percent).
In the House District 17B race incumbent Pete Nelson, R-Lindstrom, trails challenger Jeremy Kalin by a count of 5926 (50.21 percent) to 5862 (49.67 percent).
