"Tin Man" water tower says goodbye to Forest Lake

Early Thursday morning a handful of Forest Lake residents stood around the Forest Lake City Hall watching the "Tin Man" water tower being removed. Most sat silent, but others stated it was "a sad day."
The decision to remove the tower came in July of 2006 when the city accepted a quote from Iseler Inc. to remove the iconic Forest Lake tower. The city stated that the tower hadn't been in use for a number of years, the lead paint was peeling and the overall integrity of the tower had been lost.
