Incumbent County Attorney Johnson knocked out
Incumbent Chisago County Attorney Katherine Johnson was knocked out in her bid to win a second four-year term in office when she placed third in a three-way primary contest on Tuesday.
Janet Reiter won the primary election battle with 1351 votes, according to information released by the Minnesota Secretary of State. Timothy Ryan was second with 1298 votes. Reiter collected 38.2 percent of the vote while Ryan had 36.7 percent. Both advance to the Nov. 7 general election ballot.
Johnson, who defeated Ryan in a close race four years ago, was eliminated on Tuesday. She received 882 votes or 25 percent of the Chisago County total.
