1 hurt in crash at TH-97 and US-61 south
One man was hurt at 11 a.m. Monday in a two-vehicle crash at the south intersection of US-61 and TH-97. The Minnesota State Patrol said Jake Adam Lemon, 30, of Forest Lake, suffered head injuries when his southbound 2000 Saturn was unable to stop for a delivery truck that was eastbound on TH-97. Lemon was airlifted to North Memorial Hospital, Robbinsdale. The truck's fuel tank was ruptured by the collision but the driver, Eric D. Sahland, 29, of Coon Rapids was not injured. The crash remains under investigation. State Trooper Pat McArdle looks over the damaged car here. Area residents hoping to see intersection safety improvements at the two US-61-TH-97 junctions may have to wait. City of Forest Lake officials said this week that some $400,000 in MnDOT funding for the work has been eliminated by the state, (Photo By Cliff Buchan)
