The Board of Education of ISD 831 will meet in special session at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 28 to approve the preliminary property tax levy that will be collected in 2007. The board met last Thursday to adopt the preliminary levy but will now redo the action because of failure to post notice of the meeting as required by state law. Superintendent Lynn Steenblock said Monday the district learned of the posting problem after the Sept. 14 meeting had taken place. Because of the fact, he said the board would be asked to meet again on Sept. 28 to vote on the proposed property tax levy. A final decision on the actual 2007 levy wonít take place until December following the Truth in Taxation public hearing.
