Wyoming Stagecoach Days set Sept. 30
Besting the 2005 150th anniversary celebration of Wyoming will be a tough act to follow this year.
But community volunteers in Wyoming plan to do just that on Saturday, Sept. 30.
Thatís the date for the newly named Wyoming Stagecoach Celebration. A full day of events are being planned in downtown Wyoming.
The fall celebration theme is a take off on the communityís early days as a stagecoach stop on the road from St. Paul to Duluth.
In keeping with that theme, numerous members of the Old West Society of Minnesota will return on Sept. 30 for their Wild West Shows which will be acted out throughout the day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
A new attraction this year will be a ìHistory Road Showî sponsored by the newly formed by Wyoming Historical Society. The group will have a display on Sept. 30 at the Giese Memorial Library.
The society is encouraging Wyoming area residents to share old photos and memorabilia for the event. For more information, contact one of the following: Neil Gatzow, 651-462-4028; Fay Dickey, 651-462-4484; or Bea Zaruba, 651-462-7616.
