Volleyball team gets back to business

With the previous weekís grind of playing six matches in 72 hours now behind them, the Ranger volleyball team settled into a comfortable part of its schedule where they faced just one opponent. That lone adversary was Cambridge-Isanti, and Forest Lake had a relatively easy time against them on Saturday, winning 25-16, 25-18 and 25-12.

Head coach Sherri Alm sounded like she expected her team to respond and earn the victory, and she was really pleased with the performance turned in by senior Ali Jones.

ìShe stepped in and did a great job at the net, having several blocks,î Alm said.

Also receiving kudos from Alm was junior Chelsie Sobieck for her team-leading 16 kills, captain Megan Becker and her 10 kills, senior Nicole Tetrault for her 11 digs, and junior Megan McKenzie with her 36 setting assists.

The win raised Forest Lakeís record to a healthy 7-1 as they head into a week where they play Park, White Bear Lake and Stillwater.

ìWeíre just excited to get conference rolling,î Alm said.

The volleyball team was away against Park and then hosts White Bear on Thursday at 7 p.m.
