Forest Lake Mayor Terry Smith will have at least two others join him in the race for mayor of Forest Lake this fall.

Stev Stegner and Greg Vukich have both filed for the position and will join Smith.

On the city council side, ìBoî Bogotty has filed for a four-year seat on the city council.

Both Earnest Caine and Bruce Anderson have filed for the two-year term.

The city council has four positions that need to be filled including mayor and three council seats. Two seats are for four years.

Council members Rick Ashbach, Susan Young and Greg Ochs and Mayor Smithís terms will expire this year.

Ashbach and Youngís council terms are for four years while Ochsí, who filled in for Dick Tschida, position would only last for two years.

Residents interested in filing for a position can order a candidate filing packet by calling the City Deputy Clerk at 651-209-9727 or by stopping by City Hall at 220 N. Lake St.

The cost to file is $5.

All packets must be returned to the city by Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 5 p.m.

The city council election will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 7.
