FL man turns himself in after high-speed chase, possible abduction in Chisago County
At approximately 10:30 p.m. the night of Aug. 30, a routine traffic stop in Wyoming resulted in a high speed chase and the discovery of an unconscious Isanti woman who would claim to have been abducted. The suspect, Ryan William Pageau, 32, of Forest Lake, managed to elude police that night, but, with an attorney present, turned himself in at the Chisago County Jail around 9 p.m. on Aug. 31. It was a Wyoming officer who first tried to pull over the vehicle, later discovered to have been driven by Pageau, who led police on a short pursuit, according to a press release from the Chisago County Sheriffís Office. Pageau crashed through a fence at 250th Street and entered the north-bound lane of I-35, causing a motorcycle and an SUV to collide. Pageau then successfully fled the scene on foot. It was only then that law enforcement officers discovered an unconscious Isanti woman, 31, in the vehicle. The two had met on the Internet and had agreed to meet. She stated that after they met, she became fearful of her safety and tried to end the date. At that time Pageau allegedly forced her into her car and he got behind the wheel and departed the Stacy area bar where the two had met. Pageau traveled south from Stacy on CR-30 toward Wyoming, where the attempted traffic stop took place.
