A rash of thefts has meant more investigative work for police in the city of Forest Lake.

Chief of Police Clark Quiring said his department is investigating a spate of residential burglaries and thefts and a major incident at one Forest Lake business.

On Friday, April 6, McCullough Mini Storage, 20355 Forest Blvd. N., reported that multiple storage units had been entered.

Quiring said as many as 13 storage units were targets for forced-entry burglaries. He said the department is awaiting a list of stolen items from each victim hit in the crime.

Residential properties were also hard hit during the past two weeks. In two cases, all-terrain vehicles were stolen.

On Sunday, police received a report of a break-in to a pole barn in the 18000 block of Forest Road N. A 2004 Suzuki 50 cc ATV was reported stolen.

On Thursday, April 5, a Polaris Explorer ATV valued at $3000 was reported stolen from a residence in the 21000 block of Inwood Ave. N.

Homes on Heath Ave. N. and Heath Ct. N. were targets of burglars on Monday, the chief said.

A home owner in the 23000 block of Heath Avenue told police on Monday that jewelry and a number of guns were stolen from the home.

On the same day, a home in the 21000 block of Heath Ct. N. told police someone took a snowblower, garden tools, a wildlife art print and a safe from the home and garage.

In both cases there were no signs of forced-entry, Quiring said.
