Mark Kuppe is new HSI chief
The Human Services Inc. Board of Directors has selected Mark Kuppe as the new chief executive officer of HSI. Dr. Kuppe, currently the chief operating officer, started his career with HSI in 1981. He succeeds Robert Butler who has been CEO since 1992. Board Chairman Steve Scallon said that in making this selection, the board worked with outside consultation, developed a set of leadership success factors specific to the CEO position, and met with stakeholders from within and outside of HSI. Kuppe’s starting date as the CEO will be May 1. A retirement event for Robert Butler is planned May 3. HSI, a nonprofit organization with seven offices in Washington County, annually serve more than 9000 residents by providing multi-services for children and their families, adolescents and adults who face daily struggles related to emotional disorders, mental illness, chemical dependency, domestic or sexual abuse.In addition, HSI provides services for the elderly and adults with disabilities, which include Meals on Wheels and congregate dining, and door-through-door transportation.
