Worker hurt in Wyoming plant explosion
An explosion Friday morning in Wyoming seriously injured a worker at All Safe, 26443 Fallbrook Ave.. Fire Chief Dennis Berry said a male worker, believed to be in his 30s, was working on a small oxygen cylinder when it exploded shortly before 10 a.m.
Berry said the man suffered burns, puncture injuries and a possible broken leg. He was taken by ambulance to Fairview Lakes Regional Medical Center in Wyoming where he was immediately airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
Berry said officials were uncertain about the cause of the blast which happened in the rear of the plant located in the Wyoming Industrial Park. The Wyoming Police Department is assiting with the investigation.
The blast was reportedly heard for several blocks. A plant worker to the north of the All Safe facility described the noise like a "sonic boom."
