Forest Hills youth to sleep outside in boxes, hold food drive
Forest Hills United Methodist Youth will be living in boxes this weekend.
The youth group, along with its leaders, will be setting up their boxes in the front yard of Forest Hills United Methodist Church along Highway 97.
The event is scheduled to take place from 6 p.m. on Friday, April 20 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 21.
It is an event that will coincide with their annual 30 hour famine experience where the youth will go without food for 30 hours while raising money for malnourished African children.
A food drive will also be taking place at the same time this weekend.
Forest Hills Youth will be positioned at Marketplace Foods and Cub Foods accepting food donations and handing out information about the 30 hour famine.
All food donations are welcome and can be dropped off at the church at anytime over the course of the event.
All food donations will be given to a local food shelf.
Forest Hills United Methodist Church is located at the corner of TH-97 and 11th St. SE. Call 651-464-5249 for more information.
The 30 hour famine is a program of WorldVision which is a Christian relief and development organization dedicated to helping children and their communities worldwide reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty.
