A 5K walk/run fund-raiser on Saturday, May 5 in Forest Lake will raise funds for Minnesota Lyme Action Group. The event will start on the Hardwood Creek Trail in downtown Forest Lake and utilize the Tower parking lot for sign in and registration. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with the walk-run slated from 9 a.m. to noon rain or shine. Cost for adults is $20 on May 5 or $15 in advance. Children 13 and under can register for $15 on May 5 or for $10 in advance. Event proceeds will fund research through the Minnesota Insect Borne Disease Education Council. Education materials on Lyme disease will be available on event day. The event is designed to increase awareness about Lyme Disease and provide funding for research.
