On April 6, District 17 State Sen. Rick Olseen, DFL-North Branch, and Chisago County Commissioner Ben Montzka of Wyoming, presented Chisago County Auditor Dennis Freed with a check for $3508.54 representing the monies that Olseen and Montzka donated to the county for library services in 2006. Olseen is a former member of the Chisago County Board of Commissioners. Olseen and Montzka worked successfully to construct three new community library buildings for use by county residents. Olseen and Montzka anticipate that their donation will be used by the county board to support additional staff hours for libraries within the county. Chisago County’s community libraries are branches of the East Central Regional Library System which has its headquarters in Cambridge.
