Wyoming United Methodist to host open house celebration
Members of the community are invited to an open house and celebration at the Wyoming United Methodist Church on Sunday, April 29 as part of the official dedication of the church’s new fellowship hall, library and office wing.
The festivities begin with a 10:30 a.m. celebration worship service, followed by a luncheon and short program in the fellowship hall.
The Wyoming United Methodist church is deeply rooted in the Wyoming community with a congregational history spanning 133 years.
The church broke ground for this building project in 2005. The new fellowship hall sits on the site of an earlier church structure which dated back to the late 1800s.
Planking from the walls of the original church have been incorporated into the new library in honor of the church’s rich history and a visible reminder of the church’s continuing commitment to its ministry within the greater and growing Wyoming community.
“As we build upon our past and celebrate the completion of our current building project, we are fully focused on the future and expanding our ministry efforts within our community,” said Pastor Deb Lind-Schmitz. “We are particularly excited about a new partnership with Family Pathways in launching ‘Caring Hearts’, a respite care program for seniors with early and mid-stage memory loss and the loved ones who care for them.”
