Wyoming Appeals Court date is May 24

The Minnesota Court of Appeals on May 24 will hear an appeal of a Ramsey Court District Court ruling in the Wyoming city and town consolidation case. Wyoming Mayor Sheldon Anderson said the city was informed of the court date on Monday. The appeal follows a district court ruling that rejected a writ of mandamus filed by the city and Wyoming Township that requested the district court order the Office of Administrative Hearings to consider the city and town’s consolidation agreement and not combine that move with annexation petitions filed by Chisago City and Stacy with the OAH. The hostile annexation bids would strip some 4000 acres of Wyoming Township land away from the proposed new city of Wyoming. The city and township in late 2005 came to terms on a consolidation agreement. That effort came after Chisago City in January of 2005 was granted 5000 acres of Wyoming Township territory via hostile annexation and a ruling by an administrative law judge.
