Resurfacing to continue through mid-November

Another stage of road construction has started in Forest Lake.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation started to resurface and replace culverts on US-61 in Forest Lake on Monday, August 13.

Mn/DOT said motorists should expect some traffic restrictions as their crews are resurfacing from First Avenue South to Second Avenue North.

Traffic will be limited to a single lane in each direction between TH-97 and US-8.

The resurfacing project is expected to continue through mid-November.

The resurfacing is part of a larger Highway 61 project that began in early July and is expected to be completed in mid-November, weather permitting.

Mn/DOT urges motorists to drive with caution, reminding them to slow down in the work zone and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
