The body of Jon Francis, son of former District 52 State Senate candidate David Francis of Stillwater, was found last week on the north face of Grand Mogul in the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho. Jon Francis had been missing since July 15, 2006 while climbing the Grand Mogul, a mountain in the Sawtooth range. He died after falling during his descent from the mountain. The body was located on July 25 by Idaho and Custer County search teams some five weeks after the search resumed this summer. Last year’s search was called off on Oct. 22 with the onset of winter and resumed this year on June 15. The Francis family issued a statement saying it was “extremely grateful” for the support provided by the many individuals involved in the search and for the generous contributions the family received.
