The Washington County Board of Commissioners has given the green light to a plan for contracting with Stonebrooke Engineering Inc. for a peer review related to the roundabout the county is constructing on CR-18 in the south end of the county. The county is reconstructing CR-18 between Upper 5th Street N. and 7th Street S. in Lakeland and West Lakeland Shores in 2008. A peer review is required prior to proceeding on the final design of the project. Plans for CR-18 are in final design with an eye toward beginning construction in 2008. The county did not use a consultant when a series of seven roundabouts were being proposed for the Broadway Avenue Corridor project in Forest Lake. That project has now been delayed.
