Butler, HSI CEO, announces retirement

After 32 years of service, Human Service Inc. announced the “pending” retirement of their CEO Robert Butler. Butler, who started at HSI as a clinical psychologist in 1975, became president of the service organization in 1992. According to a recent press release HSI is a “private non-profit organization with 250 employees and over 700 volunteers, helping people of all ages with all ranges of emotional disorders, chemical dependency, mental illness, domestic or sexual abuse, and the frailties of aging.

“HSI provides services such as meals on wheels, transportation, senior day care, crisis intervention, therapeutic education, medication management, psychotherapy, day treatment for children and adults, job support, chemical health treatment, abuse recovery, housing support, and many other community supports.”
HSI serves several communities throughout Washington County. Dr. Butler says that “helping HSI develop into such a vital organization has been an extraordinary privilege.” In retirement Butler plans “to encounter the world in new places and new ways,” and spend more time with his seven grandchildren.
