Progress is being made on the Washington County Service Center and Library in Forest Lake, the county board was told on Feb. 13. In a staff report, the county board learned that the Forest Lake and Cottage Grove projects are both on track. Washington County Transportation and Physical Development Director Don Theisen told the board that both projects are running on schedule. The 40,000 square-foot County Service Center in Cottage Grove is expected to open in mid-April with a ribbon cutting celebration expected in May or June, after roadway improvements and landscaping are complete. The 50,000 square-foot County Service Center and Library in Forest Lake is a little further off, with an anticipated opening in late summer and opening celebration planned sometime this fall. Commissioners approved construction budget changes for the projects in telecommunications and heating and ventilation systems.
