FL Area Children's Fund helps 153 kids
It was a busy winter season for the non-profit Forest Lake Area Children's Fund as the volunteer agency provided warm clothing to 153 kids living within the Forest Lake area school district. During November and December, the FLACF distributed 145 coats, 140 boots, 137 hats and 122 gloves. All but 10 of the youth served were elementary-age students, said Julie Ohman, director of community education in ISD 831 and FLACF chair. The FLACF, acting in partnership with teachers and other school district staff, provides warm winter outerwear to students who are in need of winter clothing. In addition to the 153 kids helped by the fund, four adults in need also received winter clothing.
