Veteran ISD 831 School Board President Bill Bresin will continue in that leadership role in 2007. He was reelected to the post last Thursday night during the board's reorganizational meeting. The board also elected Joe Grafft as vice-president, Rob Rapheal as secretary and Julie Corcoran as treasurer. The board defeated a motion to increase its base pay from $200 a month to $343 a month. The idea was favored by member Eric Langness who felt increasing the board pay to be on an equal scale with the lowest paying district in the Suburban East Conference may work as an incentive for members to be more active in their roles. The board as a whole did not agree, however, and opted to keep its salary at the $200 monthly rate. The board president, clerk and treasurer receive extra pay for their additional duties.
