The Washington County Board of Commissioners has completed reorganization details for 2007 and handled swearing in ceremonies for newly elected officials. At the Jan. 2 county board meeting, District 3 Commissioner Gary Kriesel was elected 2007 chair of the county board while District 1 Commissioner Dennis Hegberg of Forest Lake was named vice chair. New Washington County Commissioner Greg Orth and Washington County Sheriff Bill Hutton both took their oaths of office for the first time Jan. 2, as two other commissioners and the county attorney returned for their next terms. Orth replaces Dick Stafford on the county board while Hutton moves into a lead role in county law enforcement after 23 years on the Oakdale Police Department. He previously worked at the Forest Lake Youth Services Bureau.
