During the 2006 holiday season, Anoka Hennepin Credit Union -- including The Credit Union at Forest Lake--raised $2350 for its Adopt a Family program. All funds raised went to several credit union member families in the form of Visa gift cards. "This was a holiday program around which our entire team rallied," said Beckie Weil, AHCU Loan Officer and program chair. "The generosity of our employees and members was overwhelming and greatly appreciated. It's another example of why AHCU is such a special organization." The fund-raising ranged from board of director and staff contributions, casual Friday staff donations, selling candy canes to members, and hosting a chili cook-off and bake sale. "It's one thing to help our members with our products and services," said Weil. "It's another to see a special need then rally together to take our ëPeople Helping People' philosophy to a whole new level."
