Three members of the staff at Mattson Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Forest Lake recently completed the requirements for funeral director licensure in the state of Wisconsin. The licensure was received by Paul Hutchison, Susan Hutchison and Kari Eberhardt. The three funeral directors previously held licensure in Minnesota and Iowa and the Wisconsin licensure eliminates the need to hire third-party funeral providers when a death or burial occurs in Wisconsin. The Mattson Funeral Home directors were required to provide referral from the Minnesota Health Department and proof of completion of mortuary science course study in order to take the Wisconsin licensing examination. Upon passing the exam, they received their Wisconsin licensure. "It essentially allows us to provide service to families from the time of death to the time of the funeral," Paul Hutchison said.
