Resurfacing on northbound US-61 from TH-97 to Broadway in FL begins on Monday, July 16

Due to the culvert replacement and roadway resurfacing in the Forest Lake area, northbound US-61 will be reduced to a single lane from south of Broadway Ave. to north of TH-97 with flagging operations in place south of 97. The lane restrictions on this portion of 61 will be in place for approximately two weeks, depending on weather.

The ramp from I-35 to TH-97 was closed on July 9 and will remain closed through August 8. Also, TH-97 between I-35 and US-61 remains closed with only local access for residents available. The project includes resurfacing, culvert replacement and curb and gutter installation on TH-97 from I-35 to TH-95 in Scandia and also on US-61 from just south of the 61 and 97 junction to US-8. The ramp on TH-97 will also be widened as part of the construction work.

Information for the closure will continue to be posted on the roadway in advance of the construction. Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour. Mn/DOT urges motorists to drive with caution, reminding them to slow down in the work zone and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
