Fairview offers low-cost physicals
Fairview Lakes Health Services’ clinics, in conjunction with Fairview Sports & Orthopedic Care, will offer low-cost sports screening physicals for student-athletes residing in the Chisago Lakes, North Branch, Forest Lake, Hugo and Lino Lakes areas on several Mondays in July as well as on Monday, August 6.
Pre-registration is required for these physicals. Cost is $25, paid at the time of the screening (forms will be provided for those who wish to file an insurance claim).
The physicals not only meet the requirements of the Minnesota State High School League, but they also include the bonus of a performance evaluation by a physical therapist (To participate in Minnesota State High School League-sanctioned sports programs, students must have a doctor’s examination at least every three years. In general, students entering the seventh and tenth grades this coming fall who plan to participate in school sports will need the exam before practices begin.).
“The annual sports screening offered by Fairview Lakes is a good way to meet the requirement at a low cost,” explains Bryan Gaffy, director of Fairview Sports and Orthopedic Care and Fairview Lakes Rehabilitation Services.
Medical practitioners will provide physical examinations supplemented by a consultation with a physical therapist.
Students are urged to sign up now for sports physical screening sessions scheduled from 5:30-8 p.m. on the following dates:
