Area residents wishing to organize a block party in conjuction with the Forest Lake National Night Out festivities need to act fact. The National Night Out is slated here for Tuesday, Aug. 7. According to Forest Lake Police Sgt. Greg Weiss, the deadline for informing police of a planned block party is Wednesday, July 25. City residents are asked to register their activity by calling or writing Weiss at: 651-209-9912 or 402@flpd.com. On Tuesday, Aug. 7, the police department will have a booth at Lakeside Memorial Park to answer questions and give out safety information. “We will also have a certified car seat safety inspector for those that want to have child seats inspected,” Weiss added. Neighborhoods that contact the police and schedule their block parties will receive courtesy visits from city police, fire and rescue personnel.
