Matt Haider’s Ladies of the Moonlight are back again this summer to perform “And all that Jazz” to benefit the Forest Lake Relay for Life.

On Saturday and Sunday July 28-29 starting at 6:30 p.m. area residents are invited to step on board the S. S. Moonlight and enjoy an evening of singing, dancing and fun.

A local Catholic School is hosting an all school class reunion aboard the ship and have hired the Sisters of the Moonlight as the entertainment aboard the ship.

The idea came from the creator and director Matt Haider, a Forest Lake High School graduate.

“The idea behind this came right after we finished last year’s show,” Haider said. “Some how the idea of nuns being the showgirls on a cruise ship popped into by head and now here we are. It is also kind of fun that this years concert theme also has to do with the Relay’s raffle of a cruise ship.”

The show is comprised of 13 women at a variety of ages, all with different backgrounds.

“We have high school girls singing and dancing right along side their moms,” Haider said. “Some of the women have no formal background in music and just love to sing; while others have college degrees in music.”

The musical will feature music from shows like Dreamgirls, Chicago, Hairspray, Anything Goes and several others. The performance will be held at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Forest Lake. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the performance will start at 7 p.m.

A free will offering will be taken each night, with all the proceeds going toward the Forest Lake Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society.
