The total population living within the boundaries of ISD 831 is fast approaching 50,000. The ISD 831 School Board on June 28 certified its new school district population at 48,554 residents. The figure is certified to the state demographer for use in future revenue calculations for Community Education state funding. The new figure was compiled by a school district census this spring. The new population total of 48,554 compares to last year’s total of 46,687, an increase of 1867 residents.
