Enrollment in ISD 831 summer school programs has topped 800 students, Superintendent Lynn Steenblock told the school board at its Thursday, June 28 meeting. Steenblock reported last week that a total of 405 students are enrolled in the K-6 summer program while 334 students are taking classes in the grades 7-12 secondary program. The district’s special education summer school has 135 students in grades K-12 enrolled. The summer school program is a remedial program to help students catch up and provide educational improvement for students who want extra learning. The program will run through July 26 with the exception of some special education programs that continue into early August.
