Beginning in mid-August, Washington County residents who might normally visit the county Department of Property Records and Taxpayer Services in its main offices at the County Government Center in Stillwater, will be going to a new location. The Washington County Board of Commissioners recently approved a three-year lease for 16,480 square feet of office space in the Valley Ridge Mall off of TH-36 in Stillwater. PRTS will be moving there temporarily as part of a major expansion and renovation of the County Government Center campus. Public Works Director Don Theisen said the move is being made in the interests of customer service and employee safety. The PRTS move will allow court administration and judicial staff to move into the current PRTS location and away from the hazards of major construction work in their area. PRTS already has a license center located in Valley Ridge Mall so many customers are accustomed to accessing government services within the mall. Parking at Valley Ridge Mall will also be easier for customers, as parking access at the Government Center during construction will be limited.
