Fairview to showcase facilities at open house Saturday

The first phase of a $29 million expansion of Fairview Lakes Medical Center in Wyoming is complete.

To celebrate completion of phase one, Fairview Lakes Health Services is hosting a public open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 23. The events will feature tours, door prizes and refreshments, with activities for adults and children.

The project has added a new emergency entrance and same-day surgery center, expanded the emergency department, urgent care, intensive care, operating suites and diagnostic imaging including a new inhouse magnetic resonance imaging unit, a new kitchen and dining area, as well as inpatient areas where six patients rooms were added.

Phase II, the remodeling phase, will continue through the end of the year and include completion of diagnostic imaging and ED areas, remodeling of the Birthplace to include observation rooms and a new expanded infant nursery.

Adults who attend Saturday’s open house, will see the new emergency department with its new curved glass entrance and waiting area, visit a trauma room and the new same-day surgery center with its computerized, patient tracking system and a peek at a new state-of-the-art operating room.

Area residents should watch their mail for a postcard containing a number, which they can bring to the event and match with a posted number for a chance at great door prizes like an iPod nano and a digital blood pressure wrist monitor.

(Bring your postcard to the event. No purchase necessary to have a chance to win.)

Adults who attend receive a free minifirst aid kit while supplies last. And before they leave, adults can stop by the pharmacy display and see how Fairview MyChart® makes it easy to schedule appointments or obtain test results online.
