There’s good news to report on the Forest Lake Fourth of July fund-raising effort this week.
The American Legion Post 225 drive has reached the $26,000 level and two popular parade attractions will return on July 4.
Barb Olson, parade chair, said this week a strong week of business donations has pushed the drive to $26,000 for dollars in the bank.
The Legion drive hopes to collect $34,000 to fund the parade and fireworks.
Olson said she has received confirmation that Minnesota Brass, a popular drum and bugle marching unit, will return to Forest Lake on July 4th.
And thanks to a donation from Wal-Mart, Olson said funds are in hand to bring back the fly-over by vintage war planes which have long been a crowd pleaser on the Fourth of July.
