Register now for Forest Lake Girls Basketball Camp; starts June 11

Attention Girl Basketball Players, the Forest Lake Girls’ Basketball Camp is set to run Monday, June 11 - Thursday, June 14. The morning session will be for 1st through 4th graders and will go from 9 a.m. to noon. The afternoon session is for 5th - 9th graders and is from 1:30 - 4:30 p.m. The cost is $85 by June 1, or $100 after June 8. Parade of Stables this Saturday

Eleven metro-area Saddlebred horse stables will open their doors to the public on Saturday, June 9, from 11 – 3 p.m., in the 2nd annual “Minnesota Parade of Stables – Saddlebred Horses in the Spotlight.” Horse lovers of all ages are invited to visit one or more stables to discover the fun and excitement of American Saddlebred horses. Each stable will show horses being trained, what riding lessons are like, how Saddlebreds are groomed and cared for, and much more. Many stables have welcomed new babies this spring. The Minnesota Parade of Stables is sponsored by the Minnesota Saddlebred Horse Association. For more information and directions to the stables, visit www.msha.org.

Ranger boys basketball camp

The Forest Lake Ranger Boys Basketball Day Camps are ready for mid-June, and players can still register. The first session, for boys currently in grades 1-3, will run from June 11-15 at Columbus Elementary. The second session is June 18-22 at Forest Lake High School. Seventh - 9th graders will go from 9 a.m. - noon, while 4th - 6th graders will take the 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. slot. FLAAA meets on 2nd Tuesday

The FLAAA holds its regular monthly meeting the second Tuesday of each month at The Cornerstone in Wyoming at 7 p.m. Questions about the FLAAA or meetings call Terri or Larry Porter at 651-464-8094. The next meeting is Tuesday, June 12.

FLHA to hold special meeting

The Forest Lake Hockey Association is having a special meeting upon the request of the general membership to vote on the removal of a board member. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, June 13, at 8 p.m. in Dummys banquet room. June's monthly meeting will immediately follow.

Chisago Lakes Triathlon info

The Chisago Lakes Area Triathlon is now a proven success, and was voted in the top three of the Minnesota Triathletes Favorite Triathlons of the Year at the Minnesota Multisport Awards Banquet last November. The momentum has not stopped, as over 600 athletes have already registered for 2007, which takes place on Saturday, July 28 and Sunday, July 29.

23rd annual Milk Run registration

Entry forms for the 23rd annual Minnesota State Fair Milk Run, scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 26, are now being accepted. The 5K race starts at 7:45 a.m. The run is sponsored by the Minnesota State Fair, University of Minnesota Gopher Dairy Club and Farmers Union. The entry fee is $20. The race is limited to the first 1,500 runners. Entries must be postmarked by July 20. Online registration must be completed by 12 p.m. on Friday, July 20. Participants are encouraged to register online at www.mnstatefair.org.
