It was a good run for the girls basketball team, but Roseville would take Forest Lake's spot in the state tournament by way of a 56-49 victory in the Section 4AAAA championship game.

After the Rangers defeated North St. Paul in the first round, and then dropped No. 1 seed White Bear Lake, all Forest Lake needed was a win over a Roseville team, which the Rangers had done in late January, 61-59, for Forest Lake to continue playing next weekend.

With the Raiders taking the first meeting between these two teams, 45-44, in mid-December, the rubber match would be decided on Friday, March 9 at Concordia University, where Roseville would earn the seven-point victory.

These two programs played each other three times this season, with a mere six points separating them when it was all said and done.
