The Washington County Department of Transportation and Physical Development has set plans for an open house to discuss the proposed Broadway Avenue (CR-2) and US-61 (Lake Street) intersection improvement project in downtown Forest Lake. Washington County, city of Forest Lake, and Minnesota Department of Transportation are sponsoring the open house to discuss the proposed Lake Street-Broadway Avenue project. The open house will take place from 4:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, at the American Legion Post 225, 355 W. Broadway Avenue in Forest Lake. Four design alternatives, including a proposal for a roundabout, are being studied at the downtown intersection to address safety concerns and congestion. At this open house citizens will have an opportunity to provide input and ask questions to staff members. The roundabout that had been proposed for construction in the downtown late this summer has been delayed at least a year.
