Gunman takes cash from SuperAmerica in FL

A gunman made off with cash early Tuesday morning after robbing SuperAmerica, 1086 W. Broadway Ave. in Forest Lake. The store cashier was also assaulted during the hold-up, Forest Lake police said.

According to police reports, a man with a hand gun entered the store at 2:08 a.m. and demanded cash from the till and a carton of cigarettes. The clerk complied but was slugged with a fist after handing over the cigarettes, Police Chief Clark Quiring said.

The man fled SuperAmerica on foot. He left with an undetermined amount of cash, the chief said. No escape vehicle was seen.

Quiring said the gunman wore blue jeans, a camouflage jacket and had a hood covering his face. He was described as of average height and average weight. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Forest Lake Police Department at 651-464-5877.
