State OK's Q Comp plan; FLEA vote is next
A plan to secure special Q Comp state aid to back additional staff training for teachers in ISD 831 has been approved by the Minnesota Department of Education. Superintendent Lynn Steenblock said this week the next step in the process is for the full membership of the Forest Lake Education Association to vote on the plan that will add three days of staff training in August as part of the 2007-2008 school work year. If FLEA is able to complete its vote and the membership approves the action, the school board will meet in special session at 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 6 to ratify the contract. The school calendar previously adopted for the 2007-2008 school year includes provisions for the additional days.
